"apt-cache policy" for each package

Currently, sosreport contain a list of installed package but it does not tell where those package comes from.
In some situation it could be handy to know what are the actual ppa used (in order to figure out if a box is using cloud-archive for a given release, or even some unsupported third party repository)

Would it be possible to have sosreport gather the output of "apt-cache policy $package" for each installed packages ?

This feature has been commited upstream and is now part of the Debian package. It will need to be backported to Trusty after the merge

You might consider looking at how apport does this as it conveniently identifies packages as foreign (not Ubuntu repositories).
