These patches have gotten testing in https://launchpad.net/~openafs/+archive/ubuntu/stable for a few months; I should have sent these in for sponsorship a while ago. Please upload.

This is now most easily fixed by syncing openafs 1.6.9-2 from Debian (bug 1372718). The fix is the only source change in 1.6.9-2.
