Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

Fixed in Vivid, which is on 5.6.24. I'll leave a Trusty task open.

Note that the Canonical server team is focused on MySQL 5.5 in Trusty, which is the version in main. MySQL 5.6 in Trusty is in universe and not supported by our team. Volunteers to help fix MySQL 5.6 in VIvid are welcome - see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SponsorshipProcess if you are not an uploader.

Changed in mysql-5.6 (Ubuntu):

Seems like a new version got uploaded meanwhile, it needs to move out of proposed before that one is uploaded, it also means the changes need to be rebased

Per Seb, please rebase your changes on the current version of the mysql-5.6 package in trusty-updates (currently -0ubuntu0.14.04.4). When this is done please provide your changes as a debdiff, not a full source package, so that they can more easily be applied to the archive.

Please also update the description of this bug with the information required in order to process this as a SRU, as described at <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#Procedure>.

Once you've completed all of the above, you can re-subscribe the ubuntu-sponsors team for us to review. Thanks!
