Bug Description
With the current kernel there's a way to make the GPU hang:
- suspend from login screen
- resume
-> GPU is non-fatally hung, until logging in essentially hangs the machine since Unity fails to fully start
upstream commit 6689c167ae14c31
Also, commit fa008cd37392160f9 was cleanly cherry-picked and contained a function argument type which doesn't exist on our kernel. It needs to be renamed back to what it used to be and still is on our kernel. This caused compiler warnings that had gone unnoticed until now.

The GPU hang bug is on kernels up to and including v3.17, so Utopic needs to be patched too.
