Bug Description

When doing kexec on trusty, it will look for the xloadflags on the bzImage, but won't find it on trusty kernels. That will break kexec on EFI systems, requiring acpi_rsdp parameter to be given manually.

apport-collect 1787596

and then change the status of the bug to 'Confirmed'.

If, due to the nature of the issue you have encountered, you are unable to run this command, please add a comment stating that fact and change the bug status to 'Confirmed'.

Just manually giving acpi_rsdp parameter to kexec will make it work, so it should be automatically given despite the xloadflags not being present in bzImage.

926172d46038d7610b6b8d84e40db727cefb482d ("efi: Export EFI runtime memory mapping to sysfs") might fix it on the linux side.

Ideally, kexec-tools should be the package fixed, as this allows it to work on older kernels as well.
