Dovecot with shared mailboxes segfaults

After searching the web, there's evidence to suggest that dovecot 2.2.9 in Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS can have a segmentation fault at times. In particular, having a shared mailbox configured can cause the imap daemon to experience a segmentation fault. Further evidence suggests that dovecot 2.2.13 fixes several segmentation faults. Would you please consider an update of the dovecot packages?

Since we're on 2.2.18 in Xenial, I'm marking this Fix Released and adding a bug task to track status on 14.04.

Please see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates. We can fix this in 14.04 but only if the update is done in line with SRU policy. A backported fix would be easiest if possible. A full scale update to 2.2.13 is also possible but needs someone to drive it through SRU requirements.

Hi,
this is fairly old and I'm currently cleaning up old bugs to make sure they are either actionable or closed to get a better view on the active issues to solve.

For this bug in particular it lacks the details to reproduce the issue, more detail like a stacktrace and so on. If you'd have steps to repdoduce that would help a lot to check which upstream change fixed that and would need to be backported.

Without that this is hard to action upon, therefore marking this invalid for now to reflect that a fix is waiting on more detail.
