Bug Description
I am roles does not work 100% in the version inclueded in 14.04. I am getting permission denied errors randomly when trying to download files from s3, sometimes it just hangs. This seems to happen on large files only.
This is fixed in the latest version i think 1.5.
To reproduce.
Create a bucket
upload a tarball that is 3-500 mb.
Create an IAM role with permissions for that bucket.
Start an ec2 instance using official 14.04 AMI in eu-west-1 and assign it the i am role.
create a simple loop in bash and try to download the file until it fails or hangs using aws s3 cp
when using apikeys this does not happen.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
As Vivid is on 1.7.0-1 now, I'll mark this Fix Released for Vivid, and create a task for 14.04.
We cannot update 14.04 to a newer version. See https:/ /wiki.ubuntu. com/StableRelea seUpdates for rationale. But if somebody can provide a minimal patch that fixes this issue in 14.04 then we can apply that.
