Bug Description

Now that the fixes for emulated disk handing are now tested and validated in later releases we want the final versions of these back in 12.04 LTS. This will provide full functionality and also ensure we have a consistant implementation in all versions.

@apw: smoke testing completed. dmesg output shows that the ata bus ignores the device and that hv storage bus picks up it up.

This bug is awaiting verification that the kernel for Precise in -proposed solves the problem (3.2.0-35.55). Please test the kernel and update this bug with the results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed-precise' to 'verification-done-precise'.

If verification is not done by one week from today, this fix will be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.
