smsc75xx driver is missing from the ubuntu-installer initrd

Bug Description
I'm currently unable to perform network installations with a USB21000S2 ethernet dongle as the smsc75xx kernel module is missing from the ubuntu-installer initrd for both precise and quantal.
Note that the driver *is* present in linux-image-
