I have a dumb question; is a different mechanism used to display the restart dialog when the install is started from the live DE rather than started from the boot menu?

I ask because based on recent testing I seem to get the restart prompt properly (at least more often) if installation is started from the live DE, but I'm much less likely to see the restart prompt if "Install" is selected either from the normal boot menu or the advanced boot menu.

I'll be testing the 14.04.2 candidates over the next few days so I'll watch more closely to verify if I'm correct about that behavior.
