Xubuntu Oneiric does not display "remove cd and hit Enter to continue" when installing from desktop cd

Bug Description
RELEASE: Oneiric Ocelot
CD/DVD VARIANT: 64bit Xubuntu desktop cd
ISO BUILD: 2011-10-11
SYMPTOMS: After completing the installation, the message to restart or continue appears on the desktop. Hitting restart results in a text screen, with the plymouth throbber. When the throbber stops, the cd tray opens.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1. Download and burn to cd the 64bit desktop image.
2. Install from either the menu or the live session icon
3. Observe when the installation finishes, the message on the desktop.
4. hit enter to continue to restart
5. Note their is no prompt after the cd tray opens. The user must know to remove the disk, and hit ENTER to continue.

This looks like a repeat of bug #539027, which is still open. Are there any other messages shown on the console at this point? Has this only started happening with the latest candidate image? Is it consistently reproducible across multiple install tests in the hardware in question?
