Bug Description
[Impact]
Unable to install bird package on 14.04
[Test Case]
sudo apt-get install bird
[Regression Potential]
Minimal - fix included in later packaging versions since 14.04
[Original bug report]
When installing BIRD on Ubuntu 14.04, installation fails because bird6 fails to start. The console log is:
ubuntu@host:~$ sudo apt-get install bird

The syslog contains the following relevant lines:
Jul 15 10:26:21 host bird: Chosen router ID 172.18.197.82 according to interface eth9
Jul 15 10:26:21 host bird: Started
Jul 15 10:26:21 host bird6: /etc/bird/
In bird6.conf the "router id" line is commented out and has an incorrect IP address on it. Uncommenting it and setting the machine's IPv4 address as the router id, then running "dpkg --configure -a" fixes the problem.
Either bird6 should not be launched at package install time or an appropriate router ID should be configured in bird6.conf.

>= utopic is fine as it has the required fixes; need to pick back for 12.04 and 14.04.

Or Ubuntu should take more care about the package version they pull...
bird (1.4.0-2) unstable; urgency=low
* Enable default example router id because it's mandatory for IPv6
