The original issue I reported, marked as a duplicte of this one, was about such packages being missing.

Proper language support is restored for the corresponding language if one installs language-support-writing-*. I believe when someone installs libreoffice-l10n-*, the corresponding locale writing aids (language-support-writing-*) is expected to be installed (and as such should probably be a dependency).

Meanwhile as a workaround when writing (hyphenation + thesauraus) are needed for a given locale, it can be installed manually by installing the corresponding language-support-writing-* (for example, language-support-writing-fr for French).

Hi!

I can't understand what Fabián (#1) ment. :(
Today I wanted to use hyphenation with a German text (German installation) and wasn't successful.

After digging the problem I found the following out:
- there is no package named "libreoffice-hyphenation-*" in the PPA,
- the extension "German (de-DE frami) dictionaries" (from http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/en/project/dict-de_DE_frami ) didn't work.

But:
After the installation of the packages "openoffice.org-thesaurus-de" and "openoffice.org-hyphenation-de" everything works like it should - with Libreoffice! :)

My system information: Maverick with LibreOffice-PPA (only writer + impress) and "language-support-writing-de"

Best regards!

Forgive me! - My comment (#2) was for https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/707486 (that is marked as a duplicate for this bug). So I think it should/can stay here... (:
