Bug Description

Binary package hint: gramps

Please sync the version of gramps in Lucid from 3.2.0 to the 3.2.3 release in Maverick.
3.2.3 fixes bug 507739 which causes a crash when filters are attempted to be used in Lucid. The developers considers filters as "very important tools" in Gramps. Many other bugfixes are included since 3.2.0, among them several other crash fixes.

The release announcements:
http://gramps-project.org/2010/05/gramps-3-2-3-i-used-to-eat-there-really-good-noodles-released/
http://gramps-project.org/2010/04/gramps-3-2-1-%E2%80%9Cone-of-those-men-is-my-father%E2%80%9D-released/

3.2.3 is currently in Maverick & Debian unstable (but will migrate to testing next week). I have tested the new version and things appear to work fine. Although the debdiff is large, regression potential is low as many known bugs have been fixed and development work is mostly being done in their trunk branch, not the 3.2.* branch.

I made a quick test on the package http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/g/gramps/gramps_3.2.3-1_all.deb (from lucid-proposed)
The issue of https://bugs.launchpad.net/gramps/+bug/584639 seems to be corrected and I did not notice any big regression.

I rejected the 3.2.3-1ubuntu1 upload, since it has a version number higher than maverick. It should be called 3.2.3-1~lucid instead, since it's a backport.

Also, the diff is huge, and thus it's not quite obvious that it doesn't have regressions. If you want to go through with this, this requires some serious testing and checking for regressions on already installed gramps systems, i. e. it'll take a long time until lucid-updates,. You might consider backporting the two individual fixes for the other two bugs if this is urgent. But if you want to have 3.2.3, I didn't see changes which were entirely unreasonable for an SRU.
