Bug Description

Upstream has fixed[1] an annoying bug with git describe, I'd like to backport it into Lucid.

You may be interested in https://launchpad.net/~git-core/+archive/ppa , which has new Git releases for all supported Ubuntu releases. If you still need a fix in the Ubuntu archive, see the Stable Release Updates process:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates

Either way, marking the bug as fixed in the current development release is the first step in that process, so I’m doing that. This was fixed in Git 1.7.7.

Changed in git-core (Ubuntu):
status: New → Fix Released
