Well actually it IS an issue with the modem/router.
The previous version of ubuntu (windows and maybe OSX caches dns request or work differently) workaround this router bug. I seems that the workaround was causing other issues (see the 2 bugs mentioned earlier).
Did you try the solutions I proposed yesterday?
