Mutter is an essential component of the default Ubuntu desktop and for the desktop used by Ubuntu Budgie.
A severe enough bug could mean that people are unable to use their desktop version of Ubuntu.

This update introduces a behavior change. Fullscreen apps can no longer be transparent or translucent. However, this behavior change was made to comply with the Wayland spec and better protects against apps trying to work around intentional Wayland restrictions. See the upstream bugs for https:/
