Bug Description

Binary package hint: netbook-launcher

after having an error message that netbook-launcher had a problem, the only solution to terminate ubuntu ist ctrl+alzt+del to shutdown/reboot the system. Otherwise the user is blocked.
with a normal desktop configuration, everything worked well during logout.

Our logout code wasn't working properly anymore.

We actually will be using the new indicator-sus applet to handle logout in karmic, I however have moved to spawning the gnome-session logout dialog for the time being (indicator-sus has yet to make it into karmic correctly).

This bug was fixed by cherry-picking the patch from upstream:

netbook-launcher (2.1.1-0ubuntu2) karmic; urgency=low

  * Rename patch gio-new-api.patch to 60_gio-new-api.patch to make sure
    patches are applied in the intended order.
  * New patch, 61_r417-use-gnome-session-for-session-end-signal, from upstream
    r417; use gnome-session's SessionManager signal instead of GnomeClient;
    fixes crasher and a warning on exit; LP: #395468.
  * New patch, 62_r418-use-system-logout-dialog, from upstream r418; use
    system logout dialog instead of builtin one (until switching to f-u-s-a);
    fixes.
