Bug Description

Binary package hint: codelite

I started codelite to find out if I wanted to use it with my code. Several annoying issues I noticed:

1) The window with the code is very small and not adjustable
2) The right drop-down menu above the code window is too wide for my screen (I can not resize it)
3) Before I moved the icons in the menu bar they were also off my screen (too wide).

Screenshot attached.

ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: i386
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04
Package: codelite 1.0.2759+dfsg-0ubuntu3
SourcePackage: codelite
Uname: Linux 2.6.28-12-generic i686

Hi and thanks for taking the time to file this bug. Looking at the
screenshot, this does look very weird indeed. It does not look that way
on my system (I'm using GNOME). Could the theme you are using have
something to do with this?

I'll forward this upstream and see what the upstream author thinks about
it.

I know you are. But CodeLite uses WX for its GUI, and WX internally uses
GTK. I think there's a way to change the GTK theme in KDE. Could you try
that and see if your problem persists?

Would love to try, but the problem is I don't know where I can find that...

I don't know either.

I've just discussed this with the upstream author, and he asks if you could attempt to resize the window and see what happens?

The text blocks keep the same dimensions, but the overall window
resizes. If I resize to below the size of the white blocks they even
disappear.

Attached new screenshots, the second resizing below the dimensions of
the fields.

And thanks for your time anyway.

codelite-plugins-symbolview breaks the codelite UI (fixed size text areas, no tabs).
Also in 1.0.2841+dfsg-0ubuntu1 (karmic)

Try uninstalling this plugin. Works for me.

That is a lot better. Thanks...

Not seen, but then again, the plugin mentioned earlier is not available anymore (and/or not installed by default if it is renamed).

2) The right drop-down menu above the code window is too wide for my screen (I can not resize it)

Still try (if you resize the window to something smaller you can see for yourself). Currently my new computer has a wider screen so at startup it is already fine, but when I decrease the width it becomes a problem.

3) Before I moved the icons in the menu bar they were also off my screen (too wide).

Probably more of a windows manager problem, right. But again, if you decrease the width of the window you see the problem.
