I think we'd want to keep track of which sources.list entries end up being disabled in this bit of code.

Just tried upgrading to latest ubuntu from 20.10 to 21.04
install dies with no message
I tried US server = no joy
I tried main server = no joy

see upgrade fail with no message gif

@pleabargain Its for us to know what the root cause of your failure to upgrade is without any log files. If you are still unable to upgrade could you provide us with your /var/log/dist-upgrade/main.log file? Alternatively, you could run 'apport-collect 1910841' which would gather all the log files we need. Thanks in advance.

When I ran the command I also got a different error:

The log files you've attached to the report show a successful upgrade from Ubuntu 21.04 (hirsute) to Ubuntu 21.10 (impish). Are you currently trying to upgrade to the development release of Ubuntu 22.04 (jammy)?

Could you please also add the contents of /etc/update-manager/release-upgrades?

The bug I posted is from 2021.

I have not tried upgrading to Ubuntu 22.04 (jammy).

I think this bug can be archived as it MAY not be relevant anymore.
