Bug Description

Binary package hint: drupal6

After the install script (6.10-1 in Jaunty) finished, there is some missing info for the users:
- the webserver has to be restarted: sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart
- the start link for Drupal is: http://localhost/drupal6/install.php

Please provide these info somewhere around the last lines of the install script outputs.

Otherwise even Drupal has nicely installed, the user might be lost.

I was about to file a bug report ;) I thought there was a serious bug with the package. I've installed drupal by hand many times, and just figured that the package installer would have done all the rest.

There really does need to be some sort of debconfig alert. I'm thinking just like the db setup.

i.e.

 please visit *servername*/drupal6/install.php to finish

                                   ok

Thoughts?

Generally the next step after installing any package that doesn't show up on a menu somewhere logically is to look for a README file. This is especially important with drupal6, as the README.Debian file is quite well written, and includes instructions for configuring webservers appropriately.

So the fix should also include instructions to read /usr/share/doc/drupal6/README.Debian

In discussions its been suggested that adding a debconf note may be too intrusive for SRU, given that people may have preseeds that install/configure drupal6 already.

So, with that said, should we in fact mark it as Won't Fix for Lucid/Karmic/Hardy?
