This is still a problem in intrepid. I see the exact behavior described above. "gdmchooser[10437]: GLib-GObject-WARNING:."
Kernel is 2.6.27-7-generic (AMD64)

Originally I was able to use XDMCP with no problem at all. Some update broke it.
