Bug Description

Introduce the new NVIDIA 465 driver series, fabric-manager and libnvidia-nscq. Also migrate the UDA 450 series to the 460 series.

[Impact]
These releases provide both bug fixes and new features, and we would like to
make sure all of our users have access to these improvements.

See the changelog entry below for a full list of changes and bugs.

[Test Case]
The following development and SRU process was followed:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NVidiaUpdates

Certification test suite must pass on a range of hardware:
https://git.launchpad.net/plainbox-provider-sru/tree/units/sru.pxu

The QA team that executed the tests will be in charge of attaching the artifacts and console output of the appropriate run to the bug. nVidia maintainers team members will not mark ‘verification-done’ until this has happened.

[Regression Potential]
In order to mitigate the regression potential, the results of the
aforementioned system level tests are attached to this bug.

[Discussion]

[Changelog]

== 450-server ==

  * New upstream release (LP: #1925522).
    - Fixed an issue with the NSCQ library that caused clients such as
      DCGM to fail to load the library. Since the NSCQ library version
      needs to match the driver version, the user would encounter a
      version mismatch issue when using DCGM.
    - Fixed an ECC policy that caused a CUDA malloc failure after
      encountering a single uncorrectable error.

== 460 ==

  * debian/additional_card_ids:
    - Add new IDs:
      1FB1 (Nvidia T600)
      2231 (Nvidia RTX A5000)
      24B7 (Nvidia RTX A4000 mobile)
      24B8 (Nvidia RTX A3000 mobile)
      25B8 (Nvidia RTX A2000 mobile)
  * debian/templates/control.in:
    - Make nvidia-dkms depend on its versioned nvidia-kernel-source
      (LP: #1925386).
    - Add transitional packages for the 450 series (LP: #1925522).

== 465 ==

  * Initial release (LP: #1925522).

== nvidia-settings ==

  * New upstream release (LP: #1925522). [all releases]
  * debian/patches/08_add_prime_support.patch: [all releases except for impish and hirsute]
    - Stop the timeout after the child is done. This fixes an error
      that g_type_check_instance_is_a() was throwing.

== fabric-manager-450 and fabric-manager-460 ==

  * Initial release (LP: #1925522).

== libnvidia-nscq-450 and libnvidia-nscq-460 ==

  * Initial release (LP: #1925522).

Hey Alberto! Looking at the nvidia-settings hirsute SRU in the queue: I see your upload is reverting the change from 460.56-0ubuntu2 - the patch include-Xlib.patch is removed but the fix doesn't seem to be part of the new upstream version. It feels to me as if this would re-introduce LP: #1922583 and cause the dependent package to FTBFS again?

Is that the case? Or is the change no longer necessary? Thanks!

Ok, performed a review of the NEW packages of fabric-manager-{450,460}. I'll accept them as is as none of those issues are blocking, but please fix those before proceeding with the SRUs. The packaging is in overall a bit on the 'weird' side, but Nvidia pieces can get a bit hairy.

List of minor issues to fix:
 - For fabric-manager-450 the Vcs-Browser field does not exist (looks like the 450 is not on available on github?). 460 seems to be there though.
 - fabric-manager-450 has .install, .links and .triggers for the 460 packages. These need to removed as they're just adding to the confusion.
 - In both packages in debian/rules there's a override_dh_auto_build: that does `rm -f lib*.so` - that seems like some leftover that needs cleanup.
 - In debian/rules the BRANCH variable is set to 999 instead of 450 and 460 respectively. I think this should be kept up to date with the packages that are being considered.

Performed a review of the remaining 2 NEW packages. Non-blocking issues for libnvidia-nscq-*

 - Build-Depends on a non-versioned debhelper?
 - Same as above, debian/rules BRANCH variable is set to 999
 - Same as above, weird `rm -f lib*.so` in override_dh_auto_build - cleanup needed

Besides that, I guess all the 4 new packages suffer from some lintian warnings (forgot to mention those earlier). Possibly good to have some overrides for those that make no sense, but I'm listing some that would be good to fix:

W: libnvidia-nscq-460 source: ancient-standards-version 3.8.0 (released 2008-06-04) (current is 4.5.0)
W: libnvidia-nscq-460 source: override_dh_fixperms-does-not-call-dh_fixperms (line 124)
W: libnvidia-nscq-460 source: package-uses-deprecated-debhelper-compat-version 9

Still, I think it's non-blocking for a package of this caliber.

We found one potential issue. During some boots, the nvidia-settings GUI only has the "PRIME Profiles" tab with all other options missing. This only occurred on Hirsute, primarily on one out of three tested laptops, and primarily with the 460.80 driver. I could also reproduce the same issue with the previous driver version (460.73.01). All other tests were successful.
