Bug Description
Pull request (https:/
The new code contains the following improvements:
* Added support for switching between software and hardware compression.
* Added --dfltcc configure flag (the old way of building it still works).
Switching between software and hardware compression is not simply a nice-to-have feature, but is actually required by Java - that's why we are requesting an update.

Did I got it right that the "being able to switch between software and hardware compression _feature_" is at the same time the _fix_ for the issue with Java?
And would that only need to be added to focal/20.04 or also to other Ubuntu releases?
