Bug Description

When a web page is displayed in Firefox, if you select the URL in the address bar and try to drag it to the desktop or a Nautilus window, it is not done.
But, afterwards, the mouse cursor become a hand and nothing is more possible with Firefox : you cannot select something, see the menu...
You can only kill the app.

Sorry for the lack of timely feedback J-Paul.
Are you still seeing the problem with the most recent firefox update?
I just tested in a fully up-to-date 19.04 virtual machine, and I cannot reproduce it myself.

  Hello,

Like I had several problems with 19.04 (mainly the computer which didn't
stop completly), I've already updated the system to 19.10 RC.

And I have no more this bug : when I drag the adress on the desktop or a
Nautilus window, nothing happens : the URL is not copied but the app
doesn't freeze any more.

Firefox 69.02 - Wayland

Good evening.

Ah, I hadn't tried in a Wayland session. I can indeed reproduce the problem in 19.04 in a Wayland session, after trying to drag and drop the URL in different places into a nautilus window, I eventually get firefox to stop responding, probably because it didn't register a drop event.

And I can confirm this doesn't happen in 19.10.

Changed in firefox (Ubuntu):
status: Incomplete → Fix Released

+ Firefox freeze when I drag an URL address to a Nautilus window under

Just to clarify the above: the desktop team reviewed the bug in their weekly meeting, and while we acknowledge it, we decided it's not worth fixing at this stage, given that 19.10 is about to be released.
