Bug Description

What happens:

I'm using a Logitech M525 mouse and occasionally I'm offered an update for it (see the attachment). But when I click "Update" I just get a message "Unable to update "Logitech Unifying Receiver: device ID [hash] was not found". I have the receiver connected.

What should happen:

Obviously it should be possible to update the device. Another option is to not offer the update at all.

The not-child extension is supported in fwupd 1.2.7 and later (https://github.com/fwupd/fwupd/commit/b62c3a4fae1104c4a1052adc7b3196afa8c33307). Ubuntu 18.04 currently contains fwupd 1.2.5.

There is currently an SRU in process to update to 1.2.10 as part of bug 1820768. This issue will be closed by that SRU upgrade as well.

So your options are:

1) Wait for that SRU to complete.
2) Switch to a newer version of Ubuntu with a newer fwupd
3) Switch from deb packaged fwupd to snap packaged. See https://github.com/fwupd/fwupd/wiki/fwupd-snap for more information on switching to the snap.
