Bug Description

PowerEdge R730
4.13.0-26-generic #29~16.04.2-Ubuntu
mlx5_core firmware version: 14.20.1820

kernel trace: https://pastebin.ubuntu.com/26529021/

Issue happened when I issued "reboot" command. Other nodes with same specifications and software versions didn't hit this bug.

A new "reboot" on the node that panic'ed didn't hit the bug.

I've set "pti=off" on all of them for now.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.15 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Please ignore the request for testing of the mainline kernel in comment #12. It would be best to test the 4.13 -proposed kernel, which can be downloaded from:

Also, if possible, it would be great if we could get access to the HW for debugging. Feel free to reach out on #stable-kernel on IRC(Canonical server) or by email.
