Bug Description
Binary package hint: zsh
Invoking zsh (after a clean install) gives:
/usr/share/
/etc/zsh/zshrc:50: compinit: function definition file not found
It seems that zsh cannot find the function definitions of some basic functions (e.g. compinit).

I had the same problem, but discovered that it was due to me starting zsh from the bash shell, where (for some reason) the variable FPATH was set by one of the programs I use. When this variable is set, zsh invoked from the bash shell will not add the default paths, and thus the function definition files are not found.
It seems, thus, that the bug is not actually a bug.
