Bug Description

Please sync znc 1.6.3-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

ZNC 1.6.3 upstream changelog indicates that there are multiple bugs
fixed in the system. Specifically (refer to this page:
http://wiki.znc.in/ChangeLog/1.6.3), there are multiple memory leaks fixed
in the 'modperl' module, and there are many feature changes which are very
useful in automated processes of module building, and other useful features.

This will need examined for an FFe.

------

Debian Changelog entries since current xenial version 1.6.2-2build1:

znc (1.6.3-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * New upstream release.
  * Remove unused lintian override.
  * Fix pkg-config-bad-directive in znc.pc.
  * Bump Standards-Version to 3.9.7 (no changes required).
  * Enable full hardening, except PIE.

Have you tried to test this package on xenial? Did you a test build? etc... We are happy to your response.

Uploading the diff for the upstream changelog.

The diff was done based on two folders: ./xenial-current and ./xenial-sync, which on my system is how I separated the existing 1.9.2 in Ubuntu and the new 1.9.3 in Debian in the folder structure I was working in. This is why the folder names do not match exactly in the diff.

Note that the 'ChangeLog' that is shipped in the tarball is a .md (Markdown) file. This may make it slightly harder to understand the formatting in the changelog.

This log file contains the complete sbuild log for the amd64 build in a Xenial schroot. The build host machine is a 14.04 system, but the schroot is Xenial.

This file also contains Lintian output, because I like to lintian-check my builds. The Lintian checks fail with 'E: znc changes: bad-distribution-in-changes-file unstable', however this is a valid distribution in Debian. This error happens because I did not change the changelog entry to say 'xenial', and I left it to be identical to the package in Debian Unstable.

I redid the changelog diff, to try and make it less evil. Diff content appears to be the same, though, except for the folder paths which differ from the prior upload and look a little more sane here.

.deb files were installed via dpkg -i, dependencies via `apt-get install -f`, which finished configuration of some znc packages which were missing dependencies.

This text file is all the relevant logs from the installation that I was able to pull (network disconnect to the testing system resulted in a failure to obtain the `dpkg -i` log data. However, the packages did install, and the run log (to be attached next) indicates successful installation.

Runtime logs of 'znc --makeconf' indicating it is installed, and the running state of the executable was reflected with a test ZNC connecting to IRC correctly. (As well, the PID indicated on the system was successfully installed).
