I can confirm this. man gdialog brings up the output "No manual entry for gdialog."

The manpage does exist upstream: http://manpages.debian.net/cgi-bin/display_man.cgi?id=a3be9188989f4166cde9edfd480dce72&format=html

Since zenity installs gdialog as a wrapper script, would it make sense to include the gdialog manpage? "man zenity" does give gdialog(1) in the SEE_ALSO section.

gdialog is deprecated according to gdialog --help. Maybe a gdialog.1 -> zenity.1 link should be shipped with the package?

I don't know at what time the link disappeared, but in Karmic "man gdialog" again gives "No manual entry for gdialog.".

I would sincerely like to know the rationale, or the guideline, for which closed bugs must not be re-opened.

But anyway: see bug #681578
