youtube-dl does not understand recent YouTube changes

YouTube has changed its metadata format and youtube-dl no longer works.

I'm running "20.04.5 LTS (Focal Fossa)" and the youtube-dl package version is 2020.03.24-1

This is a very annoying topic. The fix is in the branch a long time already, but the maintainer didn't publish a new release - and also doesn't seem to have such plans. it seems that the master branch is not stable enough right now because of a lack of quality control. (see https://github.com/ytdl-org/youtube-dl/issues/31585)

The attached patch will fix the issue by changing just one line.

ok, too late. since 1 or 2 days, there's a next problem which also has to be solved. a total blocker for youtube downloads: https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp/issues/7327
