Bug is/was constant, happened every time.
However, On removal of Firefox 3.5.1 along with 3 versions of xul runner, replacing with a fresh Firefox 3.0.13; along with removal and reinstall of Yelp + it's deps, the problem seems to have been cured.
The 3.5 version of Firefox was insalled alongside 3.0.13 using Ubuntuzilla. I noticed that the xulrunner-1.9.2~a1 did not install with the rest this time, maybe this is the culprit?

I had this issue, and additionally, yelp would cause the system to run _very_ slowly. Removing the package for xulrunner-1.9.2 eliminated the problem. I have not tried reinstalling the package to see if installing it again reproduces the problem.

Thank you for reporting this bug.

Does this happen in Lucid?

No doesn't happen in Lucid for me, fresh install. Yelp very slow though, grays out unresponsive frequently, enough for me to ignore it now and just use man pages from a terminal or Google if I want to know "howto"

Rob Powell, thank you so much for responding quickly to this bug and testing on Lucid to make Ubuntu better. In Maverick, I could not recreate your scenario. This bug report is being closed due to your last comment regarding this being fixed with an update. Lastly, regarding the speed of yelp opening or operating, while I also experience a small delay in yelp opening, that is another bug for another post. I recommend doing a thorough search before posting another bug as it may already exist via https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/yelp Thank you again for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please submit any future bugs you may find.
