I miss the package in Ubuntu Precise Pangolin

There doesn't seem to be an upstream maintainer, and it was causing problems.

Which problem did it cause? The only "problem" I see is that the package is unmaintained for years. However, it worked all the years without any problems and most likely works in precise too. So why should one remove a working software from the repository?

Me too. This is the best desktop video capture I've used.
I've tried recordmydesktop, it produces buggy files that can't be edited.

There's nothing wrong with it. It works, it's simple, so no one needs to update it.
How does this rule work? Do you remove every old piece of software that nobody is updating?
