Firefox updated but not xulrunner.

In December and according to dpkg.log, I installed
  firefox-3.0 3.0.5+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1
to update from Firefox 2.x to Firefox 3.x

At that time the "About" box in Firefox 3 said:

  Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008071719
  Ubuntu/8.04 (hardy) Firefox/3.0.5

Yesterday I ran "apt-get upgrade" and got
xulrunner-1.9 1.9.0.1+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.2 installed.

Now the "About" box in Firefox 3 says:

  Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008121621
  Ubuntu/8.04 (hardy) Firefox/3.0.5

This means: I had updated Firefox 3.0.5, but not xulrunner-1.9.

Problem: The fact that apt allows updating Firefox to 3.0.5 without updating Gecko leaves me with all the
security holes and the perception that they're fixed.

Maybe the dependency between Firefox and xulrunner is too weak?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test a current, supported, Ubuntu version. If you can test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could upload updated logs by running apport-collect 316708, and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

Firefox has no dependency on xulrunner now because we build it completely standalone, so this is not an issue (I'm not sure how apport-collect helps in this case really)
