Bug Description

Binary package hint: xulrunner-1.9.2

Installation of 1.9.2.13+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu2 freezes during postinst. This is a step that normally takes just a few seconds to complete, but now it has been sitting there for close to 30 minutes without progress.

I get same issue with xulrunner.
Is there an update version and if there is how can i make xulrunner finish its configuration?
Because i'm stuck at configuring (also using dpkg --reconfigure -a) and cannot update the system..
please Chris Coulson explain it!

Still building on i386.

xulrunner-1.9.2 (1.9.2.13+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu3) natty; urgency=low

  * Oops, some muppet (me) forgot to add the lsb_release calls to
get the distro version and switch off -pie on natty, making the
package configure hang for all i386 users. Nice one me
    - update debian/control
    - update debian/rules

Apologies accepted. That has also got to be one of the most hilarious
log entries I've seen in a while. :)

I'm still stuck on this. "sudo dpkg --configure -a" keeps getting stuck.

Me too. How do I fix this on my machine?

Resolved.
Removed the files "/var/lib/dpkg/info/xulrunner-1.9.2.postint" and "/var/lib/dpkg/info/xulrunner-1.9.2.prerm"
Reconfigured, Updated, then Upgraded.
Don't trust me though, I don't know if this will cause any hiccups down the road, it shouldn't.

That didn't work for me. A lot of packages still retained for updates.
