Bug Description
The mini-mouse xubuntu icon at top left of xubuntu-desktop is behaving in a hyper-sensitive fashion. At the slightest touch of the mouse it will flash the menu on and then flash it back off. It takes several times to get the menu to be stable. This has been persistent in previous versions also.
Also mouse will not reposition whena text area is selected without highlighting random text in the area being repositioned. I am aware that these are merely cosmetic problems but they detract away from the ambiance and effervescence of the xubuntu-desktop experience and should be fixed.

That sounds like your mouse is hyper-sensitive, I definitely cannot confirm this behavior in *any* Xubuntu install I've ever seen personally or heard about.
Maybe a problem with the mouse? Could you try another one?
