Bug Description

terminal dialogs (such as ones from the dialog command) are mostly blue.

While not awful to look at, it does seem strange.

See attached screenshot.

http://paste.ubuntu.com/885030/ should fix the weird red color contrast to blue. Blue background works, so wontfix unless there is a good reason to.

I'm sorry, but where does that code go? Into the terminal.rc or ..?

Yes, ~/.config/Terminal/terminalrc

I tried that, it didn't seem to change anything.

Tried rebooting and stuff too.

As said in the comment, it only changes the red color, it will not change the blue background. If you still think it should be changed, please clarify why it should be changed?

It doesn't need to be changed. I was just suprised by all the blue. :-)

This bug was fixed in the package xubuntu-default-settings - 12.04.9

---------------
xubuntu-default-settings (12.04.9) precise; urgency=low

  * etc/xdg/xdg-xubuntu/Terminal/terminalrc: small fix for the weird red color
    contrast to blue. lp: #955444
  * usr/share/xubuntu/applications/defaults.list: updated a few associations
    still using obsolete default apps.
  * debian/control: drop the explicit dependency on lightdm, it's confusing
update-manager (which ends up installing unity-greeter first).
  * etc/xdg/xdg-xubuntu/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf: switch to its special
    Greybird-lightdm gtk+ theme.
