Bug Description

This happened on Ubuntu MATE 15.04 beta 1. Everything was fully upgraded, using the proposed repositories.

I did sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop, this conflict happened:

Unpacking xubuntu-default-settings (15.04.3) ...
dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/xubuntu-default-settings_15.04.3_all.deb (--unpack):
 trying to overwrite '/etc/skel/.config/Trolltech.conf', which is also in package ubuntu-mate-default-settings 0.4.2ubuntu1

Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1).

There were then two system problem dialog boxes that popped up. I'm going to reboot and run the xubuntu desktop, and see if it is functioning correctly. In any case this package conflict should be handled more gracefully.

This bug was fixed in the package ubuntu-mate-settings - 0.4.3

---------------
ubuntu-mate-settings (0.4.3) vivid; urgency=medium

  * Qt accessibility modules enabled.
  * Qt theme is overridden with GTK+ when MATE session is detected.
  * Enabled Ambiant-MATE theme in the live session.
  * Relocated autostart files to /usr/share/mate/autostart
  so they do not conflict with other desktop environments.
  * Removed all configuration from /etc/skel. (LP: #1426862)
  * Closes (LP: #1427182)

I also found this problem when trying to install mint-meta-cinnamon pre 18.2 upgrade, so we obviously don't have this fix yet.
