Bug Description

I was installing the various *-desktop packages for a friend to test out what interface she'd like.

Of course, lightdm got overwritten (what I expected). However, in looking up the conf files and finding out that they were restructured in 14.04, it seems Xubuntu didn't update it's location.

Unity and Kubuntu put their files in /usr/share/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d while Xubuntu still puts it file in /etc/lighdm/lightdm.conf.d

I would assume that the file should be in the /usr/share tree with the other files so they are all together.

summary: - Xubuntu 14.04 installs lightdm conf file to incorrect location

This isn't directly a duplicate bug. The other bug is about when you remove xubuntu-default-settings that it leaves the file behind. This bug is about the fact that it puts the file in a non-consistent location.

Plus, how can an older bug be the duplicate of a newer bug?

1. The proposed fix to resolve the problem is the same (see the linked branch).
2. There is nothing wrong with marking an older bug report as duplicate of a newer one.
