Bug Description

Binary package hint: xtide

Installed package xtide 2.9.5-3ubuntu1 on Intrepid.

The program works fine, but all windows are tranparent and hence the information in it can only be seen with a fairly dark background. In the settings of the program I can't find anything to adjust this.

Also I have searched the Internet and came across at least 2 different queries for support with the same problem in Ubuntu.

This looks like the same problem that exists with mathematica:

I start xtide like:
jevon@leo:~$ XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1 xtide

Is this ever going to be addressed? It's still an issue in the soon-to-arrive Karmic.

Jevon's method works for me as well (jaunty & karmic). However I wonder if xtide is past it's time; I've found online data easier to use (particularly the ability to copy & paste). Example:

Current:

Xtide 2.9.5 is transparent when visual effects are set to anything other than 'none'

Considering that the link you provided uses xtide as backend, that's funny! ;-)
