Bug Description

I am unable to pass the -v option to an application I want to run in an xterm window. For example

    $ xterm -e bash -v
    XTerm(271)
    $

This returns the version of xterm when I expected it to open an xterm window that would run then run the 'bash' with the -v option.

When I compiled the latest version of xterm from http://invisible-island.net/xterm/ (Version 297), I do not have this issue.

By the way, that was two years ago (which release of Ubuntu is this reported against?)

$ lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
Release: 12.04
Codename: precise

It looks like I have the most up to date package for my release according
to http://packages.ubuntu.com/precise/xterm.
