Bug Description

Hello,

Ubuntu 20.04 beta (Apr 2nd 2020)

1. Click the top bar date section and click again to close
As a result you have a white arrow beneath the date section.
Use mouse over or click to desktop to fix and remove the arrow

2. The same applies to Activities and the right top bar section
If you click to open a menu and then click to close. The white arrow remains.

See the attached screenshot

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1870523/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

I just did a fresh new Ubuntu 20.04 installation and right after starting up the desktop I could reproduce the issue. No custom theme or extension required. Just clicked the top bar power menu and clicked again. The same for the Date menu. I can even provide a video should you need...

Thanks. Please also:

1. Run:

   lspci -k > lspcik.txt

and attach the resulting file here.

2. Attach your log files from ~/.local/share/xorg/

3. Try selecting "Ubuntu on Wayland" on the login screen before you log in.
