I updated the driver to version svn920 of oneiric Ocelot and I have no problems playing videos but I can not even use the ttys.

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archive/primary/+files/xserver-xorg-video-openchrome-dbg_0.2.904%2Bsvn920-1_amd64.deb

You need to add the svn 921 as this resolves 2 more bugs.

I'm back, natty and Oneric no longer supported. Lucid package has bugs 1:0.2.904+svn827-1 https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/lucid/+source/xserver-xorg-video-openchrome ... Now I have installed xubuntu 12.04 and I have not seen problems I have not tried to play videos.

Previously had xubuntu 12.10 and this one did not show the tty (ctrl + alt + f1, f2 etc)

Sorry for my bad english.

This bug refers to video crash on X.Org server 1.10 is present in lucid.

Yes gang65 package https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-openchrome/1:0.2.904+svn920-1 fix this bug.

I have tested 12.04 and 12.10 and the bug is not present.

Why not add repository with backports packages or lts in ubuntu example http://packages.ubuntu.com/precise/xserver-xorg-video-openchrome-lts-quantal ??

Sorry for my bad english.
