Hi Marek,
  Can you include the /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old and output of dmesg from just after it has crashed?

It's possible that doing apport-collect 748147 might gather that and a load of other useful information for the bug.

This is not only Ubuntu problem.
I temporary install opensuse11.4.
On Open suse11.4 I have the same problem with restart X when run mplayer.

if mplayer start on full screen mode x no crash.

X crash only when switch betwen windows mode and full screen mode or relocation mplayer window.

same problem on my notebook with VX800: xorg crashes when I move or maximize or drag window with video in any player with Xv output. Xorg with openchrome from svn trunk crashes too.
Apport can't collect information about crash and I can't attach gdb to Xorg process: it attaches when I start gdb on tty1, but when I switch back to Xorg system freezes and I must reboot it with Alt+SysRQ+B
In Xorg.0.log only that lines have connection to crash:
