Bug Description
Binary package hint: xserver-
After having switched to a virtual console with control-alt-F1 and back with alt-F7 the display has attractive vertical coloured stripes rather like corduroy. It appears to be an exclusive or pattern on every eighth pixel. It's impossible to be sure without a screendump. This can only be cleared by switching back to the virtual console and issuing a sudo kill -HUP to the Xorg process. The driver obviously thinks the display is fine, a screendump is fine once the display has been restarted. I will attempt to attach a photograph.
