Bug Description
Binary package hint: xserver-
The update from 9.04 to 9.10 indicated a change to the open drivers since my old video card (NVIDIA TNT2) is not supported anymore by the proprietary drivers. However, the resolution remained at 1280x1024, as it should be.
Recently, I upgraded to 10.04 and my monitor is no longer detected correctly. System > Preferences > Monitors reveals "Monitor: unkown" and only allows me to choose lower resolutions (the highest being 1024x768).
I have tried various changes to xorg.conf but to no success.
I think it is related to either this or the nouveau drivers, either a bug itself or something went wrong in the upgrade process.
