This is already included in the patch 105_gf7025_gf7050.patch provided in Karmic currently. I see this patch is against 2.1.12, which IIRC is the version in Jaunty, so I will leave open a task for Jaunty. I'm not sure if anyone will do the backport though.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug. This issue has been fixed in newer versions of Ubuntu, and Jaunty is EOL. Thus, I am closing this bugtask.
