Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-nv

My nvidia 6600GT with pci id: 10de:00f1 is not in the pci id list of the nv driver. My system comes up with vesa instead.

Just adding the PCI ID seems to work fine

Please retest with upgrading to latest Jaunty version. If it fails, please upload copy of latest Xorg.0.log file. If log shows that card is not supported, please refer to Bug 333040 for further instruction.

Well, we can add the PCI ID at least. For the crash, please file a new bug and capture a full backtrace (see http://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Backtracing)
