Ubuntu 7.10, AMD (NSC) GX2 Geode Graphic Chipset
Explained in more detail here: http://
The NSC driver broke with the 2.8.2 (Feisty & Gutsy) causing GX2 chipsets to not work, example Xorg log:

Fatal server error:

Note that the chipset cannot change back to text mode on the virtual consoles to debug problems, discussed also on that blog: http://
I can confirm the simple fact that I haven't been able to get GX2 video going in Ubuntu (as an LTSP client), either Feisty *or* Gutsy. I wasn't able to troubleshoot because when it came time to load X11, it would just hard-lock in what seemed to be the video mode changing. Sounds like this is probably the cause.
Any work on this would be great to LTSP users, as many new thin clients are coming out with the GX2 chipset (very inexpensive, sexy thin-clients).
