Bug Description
Workaround:
I added "nomodeset" to the grub command parameters. This enabled the install.
Then I installed the proprietary NVIDIA graphics driver. Now booting works.

Might this be the upstream issue https:/ /bugs.freedeskt op.org/ show_bug. cgi?id= 33771? I am using i386, though.
